12 Marathons in 12 Months

Dedicated runner Greig Muir set himself the mammoth challenge of running 12 marathons in 12 months to raise vital funds for children in hospital.

Greig is tackling a tough total of 314 miles (506 kilometres) alongside his trusty companion Monty the Cocker Spaniel.

The dedicated pair will be running 10 kilometres a week, every week of 2021 to complete the full distance. In just three months, Greig has already smashed his fundraising target, raising a phenomenal £1470 so far!

He was made aware of the work of ECHC when a 10-year-old family member was diagnosed with liver cancer and needed a transplant, resulting in a prolonged stay at the Sick Kids.

He says: “Unfortunately, there have been some complications with our young family member’s liver transplant, and he is still in hospital. I know how much ECHC has supported him and his family during this hard time and I felt I wanted to do something to give back.

“ECHC has done amazing work throughout the toughest year imaginable. All charities have suffered this past year with a fall in donations due to the pandemic and I really want to do all that I can to assist this charity.”
