Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at Edinburgh’s Children’s Hospital?
Join us on Sunday 27th September for a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital and the many ways supporters like you help children and families facing life-changing diagnoses.
Guided tours
We’ll be open from 10am – 4pm – with guided tours running every half hour until 3.30pm. Just drop by whenever suits you.
You can also book a slot in advance using the link below, if you prefer. Rest assured, we won’t be disturbing any children by taking you to the wards.
Along the way, you’ll discover more about what life is like in hospital for children and families. For families with upcoming planned appointments, procedures or surgery, the tour can also be a great opportunity to become more familiar with the hospital environment in a relaxed and welcoming setting, helping children and their parents or carers feel more comfortable ahead of their visit.
You’ll also visit ECHC’s Hub – our welcoming family space at the heart of the hospital – where parents and carers can find a cup of tea, a moment of calm and a listening ear. There’ll be lots of fun, hands-on activities to explore, including LEGO Mars rover STEM activities, badge making, storytelling and our Art Cart.
You’ll discover more about the support on offer in the Hub, and how thoughtful environments, creative activities and compassionate support can help bring a little normality to long hospital days.
