Trained ECHC fundraisers will be working across Edinburgh in the coming months, so you may spot them in your local area. They will tell you about our work in the hospital supporting children, and encourage you to support us through regular donations by Direct Debit.
Our FAQs below will hopefully answer any questions you have about our fundraising, but please do get in touch with a member of the team if you require any further information. You can email us at hello@echcharity.org or give us a call on 0131 668 4949 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). You can also check our Privacy Policy for more information on what we will and won’t do with your data.
It’s only through receiving feedback that we are able to uphold our Fundraising Promise. It is important that if you speak with our fundraisers, you have a positive experience, whether you are able to support us or not. That’s why your feedback is essential to us and we’re grateful to receive your thoughts to help us maintain high standards. You can do this by dropping us an email at hello@echcharity.org or by calling us on 0131 668 4949 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
Professional fundraisers will represent Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity in many areas in and around Edinburgh, telling the public about our work to help children and families. They will be asking people to support our work by giving a regular donation to ECHC via direct debit.
Face-to-face fundraising is a successful and cost-effective way for us to generate much needed income. It’s also a great way for us to raise awareness with the public of everything we do in hospital.
Direct debits are an easy way for supporters to donate, and it means that we can plan for the future, to reach even more children and families.
No. The fundraisers work on behalf of ECHC with a professional fundraising agency called Aspect FS to carry out our fundraising campaign. This allows us to use skilled fundraisers in more places across the region, and to reach more people who can help us fund our life-changing work.
As part of our commitment to our supporters and to maintaining high standards, all professional fundraisers are trained. Aspect FS provides extensive training to their fundraisers prior to commencing any activity.
We also provide fundraisers with ECHC-specific training before they start to work with us.
The fundraisers also work in a way that adheres to the fundraising regulations and Codes of Practice set out by the Institute of Fundraising.
No. Fundraisers will predominantly be asking for regular donations through a direct debit. But, if a prospective donor would rather give a one-off gift, there will the facility to do so digitally.
ECHC abides by the Fundraising Code of Practice and is subject to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. We strive to ensure that not only is any fundraising activity undertaken legally, it is also done with best practice and our donors in mind.
Complaints are taken very seriously at ECHC. If you have any concerns or complaints regarding our fundraising campaign, please call us on 0131 668 4949 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) or email us at hello@echcharity.org.
