Good evening and welcome to our annual ECHC Get Together. Every year, every day, every hour, we fundraise to give seriously ill babies, children and young people the support they deserve from the moment they begin their hospital journey. We could not do this without you.
No child or young person wants to be in hospital, but for those who must be, ECHC is there to make the experience as positive as possible. And with your support, we can reach every child who needs us.
Tonight we will showcase the surprising ways in which, for those who need to use the hospital, each day can bring new challenges, different medications, fresh worries, surprising friendships, incredible lows, and unexpected highs. There is much about life at the hospital that we want to reveal – this event will shine a new light on why the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity are so important in the lives of so many children, young people and families in our community.
We are enormously grateful to you for being here with us tonight. In celebration of the thousands of smiles and pounds you will raise, a huge thank you. I hope you have a wonderful evening and enjoy all that we have planned for you. I would love to chat to as many of you as possible, so please do come and speak to me if you get the chance between all of the fun, fizz and fantastic company!
