Pinocchio's Nurseries

Round of applause please for the wonderful staff, children and families at Pinocchio’s Nurseries who have raised an incredible £75,000 for children and families in hospital since choosing to support ECHC in 2010!

Over the last 12 years, the terrific Pinocchio’s team have done anything and everything to fundraise for children and young people in hospital – from summer fairs, sponsored walks and skydives; to teddy bears picnics and creating their very own cookbooks.

Their favourite fundraising event was sponsoring a life size sculpture in 2019’s Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail and ‘Oor Woody’, a wooden marionette boy designed by Scottish artist Evelyn Sinclair, now greets the children every morning at Pinocchio’s Heriot-Watt nursery!

This year the five nurseries – Lasswade, Eskbank, Penicuik, Gilmerton and Heriot-Watt – are embarking on a sponsored Easter Treasure egg decorating activity which is sure to bring some egg-citing designs to the nursery rooms.

The wonderful team are also aiming to raise another £25,000 to tie in with Pinocchio’s own 25th birthday celebrations – which would take them to a jaw-dropping total of £100,000!

We opened our first nursery 25 years ago with a passion to ensure that children come first, which is why ECHC's ethos truly touches our hearts. It's amazing to have raised such a fantastic amount for such a wonderful cause - but we are not stopping there. To tie in with our own celebrations of Pinocchio's Nurseries' 25th birthday this year we are hoping to raise another £25,000 towards our rolling target of £100,000!
