The Haven

At The Haven, we know that having a child with a mental health concern affects not just them, but the whole family too. We’re here to help.

The Haven is relocating to Haddington

The Haven is currently located at The Fraser Centre in Tranent. While this has been a fantastic first home, the space and privacy offered here is limited. We want to give the best possible support to all our young people and their families.

The Haven will therefore soon be expanding! And that means we’re relocating to a new home in Haddington. Our new address will be:

Gatehouse
Whittingehame Drive
Haddington
EH41 4BB

Our new location brings some exciting benefits that we can’t wait for you to experience:

More spacious facilities: The new site offers us more room, so our team can provide an even better environment in which to support your family.
Enhanced privacy: Having a comfortable and welcoming space is essential, and our new setup gives greater privacy to everyone.
Extended opening hours: The Haven in Haddington will now be open Monday-Thursday: 3.30pm-7.30pm, and Friday: 1pm-4.30pm.
Expanding our reach: By relocating to Haddington, we can open our doors to even more families. We’ll now be covering the Knox Academy postcode area as well as Ross High.

The final drop in at the Fraser Centre, Tranent will be Wednesday 27th November.

The Haven at Gatehouse, Whittingehame Drive in Haddington will then open on Monday 2nd December.

We understand that a change in location may bring questions. Our team is here to support you through this transition and make it as seamless as possible. If you anticipate any problems in getting to the new Haven or have any questions about the move, please get in touch.

About The Haven

We’re here to listen, to support and to help you through the challenges that having a child who struggles with their mental health can bring.

Any family who has a child with a mental health concern is welcome. Parents, carers, siblings and grandparents can benefit too. We’re here for the whole family.

We offer support in a fully accessible, relaxed and informal setting. We do this through a range of activities we know young people will enjoy. Or, if all you need is a cup of tea and a listening ear, we’re here to help you cope.

Our team is there on the good days, the bad days, and everything else in between.

If you live within the catchment area for Ross High School and/or are registered with Tranent Medical Practice and need support, please get in touch. Email thehaven@echcharity.org, call 0131 202 9212 or click below to fill in the contact form.

Any parent of a child with mental health issues would like to wave a magic wand and heal their child completely. But in the absence of that, just knowing that you’re not alone makes all the difference.
